Essay Sample:

Parents are always worried about the negative aspects of gaming and are likely to do anything to shield their child from this affliction. But in today’s world that is ridden with gadgets and new gaming consoles that are being released everyday it is difficult to keep children away from gaming. I believe it is wise for parents to not be so strict that children feel compelled to partake in such activities by trying to hide it from their parents. School is a safe place where children will be guided every step of the way to make sure they do not develop an affinity to gaming that verges on addiction so, it is better for children to learn gaming at school.

Gaming has considerable upsides and can often be useful in real life. It improves the hand-eye coordination in children as a result they are able to develop faster reflexes. It also promotes quick thinking and finding creative solutions to problems under stress which can be useful in life. Gaming can enhance the imaginative capabilities in young children through employing scenarios that contain other worldly creatures inspired through fantasy.

Gaming also has several disadvantages and the most prominent downsides being its addictive nature which young children find very difficult to break out of. For example, my cousin became obsessed with Dota 2, an online game, just before his term finals. This resulted in him having to retake several of his exams and he was severely admonished by his parents.

Gaming is a unique experience that has some possible adverse effects on children. But it can still be enjoyed under adult supervision in schools to encourage a new extracurricular activity that is safe and entertaining.
